About the Author
William (Bro. Bill) Moore, the
Bro. Bill continues to serve the Lord through his church, the First Baptist Church of Waverly and is involved with a new mission church of 1st Baptist, the Beaver Baptist Fellowship in Beaver, Ohio. He is involved with many things in his community. Bro. Moore’s passion is for the ministry of Gideons International where he is very actively involved.
Twenty years ago, cancer entered into Bro. Moore’s life and permanently interrupted it. During the treatment he under went chemotherapy which caused his brain to swell pushing him into a deep, deep coma during in which he lingered in the valley of the shadow of death for six weeks. To this day, the doctor’s really don’t have a clue as to what caused the brain swelling. It confounded his doctors when he finally did arise from this coma. His main oncologist described his recovery as “miraculous.” Today Bro. Bill is cancer free (PRAISE THE LORD). However, he was faced with many brain damaged related disabilities.
When Bro. Bill awoke from the coma he couldn’t walk, handwrite, could barely talk, his reflexes were considerably reduced. His once booming voice was barely a whisper. His thought processes were slowed down but not reduced. He tried to regain his former skills and abilities but as is the case with most brain damage, the damaged cells never totally recovered. His life was permanently interrupted by cancer. His old mind, Spirit and emotions are all there. However, according to his neurologist, the process aged his body by about 20 years.
Bro. Moore’s first book, “Interrupted Lives, When Cancer or Other Major Tragedy Permanently Interrupts Your Life” was born out of the tragic cancer bout and the struggle to regain a useful productive life. He put his seminary training together with his faith in God to expose Satan as the chief architect behind these ungodly interruptions which plague millions of Christians every day. From his study into the lives of eight men and women of faith, he was able to find many, many applications for those who are facing interruptions of their lives of all kinds. These insights can be of help to anyone whose life has been turned upside down by events that do not make any sense. If you are tempted to blame God for your interrupted life, think again.
Living Well, Dying Well arose out of an incident in December 2001, when it seemed to Bro. Bill that he was lapsing back into another coma from which he would not recover. When the problem was finally discovered, and easily treated, Bro. Bill decided then that he needed to begin planning a good “exit strategy”. He went to the Word of God to examine how great men and women of Bibles times looked at death and how they died. He then looked for principles that they lived their lives by, identified them in this book and then made applications to the life of the Christian today.
Today Bro. Bill is 54 years old living with his true love, Ruth Ann, now married 35 years in the small rural community of Waverly, Ohio. His two grown children Jenny Lehew, 33, and Chris 30, who are both actively serving the Lord. Bro. Bill’s five grandchildren Corynn 9, Caden 5, Micah (Lehew) 1½, Carson 1 and Joshua a newborn are a source of constant joy and are the reason for this book: to leave for them a lasting legacy of faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. |
